SF (Standard Forms) First Look
Below are examples of Standard Forms (SF) you may see used in RFPs from the Federal Government. Please note the additional help to “Pay Special Attention To” certain sections of each Standard Form.

SF 18
SF 18 – Request for Quotation (This is Not an Order)
This is just a quote – not a binding document.
Pay Special Attention To: The section under Box 12 with checkboxes stating that additional provisions or representations are/are not attached.

SF 26
SF 26 – Award/Contract
This is the agreement once the Contract is awarded (when SF 33 is not used).
Pay Special Attention To: Box 9 – make sure you have determined your Discount for Prompt Payment.

SF 33
SF 33 – Solicitation, Offer and Award
This SF has multiple uses on the same form, and covers Solicitation and Award.
SF 33 confirms that you as the Bidder and the Government are on the same page and you are aware of everything required by the Government in the Bid (including FAR Clauses – both stated and implied).
Pay Special Attention To: Box 14, Acknowledgement of Amendments Section, make sure you know how many Amendments there are and what they are all about; and Box 13, make sure you have determined your Discount for Prompt Payment.

SF 1444
SF 1444 – Request for Authorization of Additional Classification and Rate
This SF is to be used if there is a classification of worker not included on the Standard Rate sheet provided in the RFP.

SF 1447
SF 1447 – Solicitation/Contract
This SF has multiple uses on the same form and is used in connection with negotiated acquisitions that use the simplified contract format – it may be used in place of SF 26 or 33.
Pay Special Attention To: The directions in the upper lefthand box – there are only certain boxes the Bidder is required to complete.

SF 1449
SF 1449 – Solicitation/Contract/Order for Commercial Items
This SF is only for Commercial Items.
Pay Special Attention To: The directions in the upper lefthand box – there are only certain boxes the Bidder is required to complete; Box 12, know what your Discount Terms are; and Boxes 27 a-b, which reference FAR Clauses regarding Commercial Items (the rules in those Clauses apply).
